About Sen Notes

A free, local-first online notepad for people who want to write immediately — without accounts, ads, or a cloud that owns their drafts.

Why Sen Notes exists

Most “free online notepads” either trap you behind signup walls, carpet the page with ads, or quietly sync every keystroke to a vendor account. Sen Notes takes a narrower bet: open a tab, write, autosave on your device, leave when you’re done.

That model is imperfect for multi-device sync — and we say so up front. It’s excellent for private scratch work, meeting notes on a work laptop, drafts you don’t want in someone else’s cloud, and anyone who is tired of creating yet another password.

Who it’s for

  • Students and professionals who need a blank page in seconds
  • Writers drafting before moving text into Docs, Notion, or email
  • Anyone who prefers local storage over obligatory accounts
  • People on shared or locked-down machines who only have a browser

What you get

Instant access

No registration. Open /notepad and type.

Local autosave

Notes stay in your browser storage — not a Sen Notes account database.

Privacy by default

No login means we are not building a profile of your notebooks.

Real formatting

Headings, lists, tables, drawings, search, trash/restore, and export.

Dark & light mode

Write comfortably day or night on desktop and mobile.

Leave anytime

Download, print, or export a JSON backup when you need portability.

What we deliberately don’t do

  • No forced accounts or email gates
  • No automatic cross-device sync (export when you need it)
  • No pretending local notes are “in the cloud”
  • No ad-funded editing surface

A note on durability

Local autosave survives refreshes and reopening the app. It does not survive clearing site data, some browser “cleaners,” or moving to a different device without a backup. If a draft matters, export it — same as you would download a file from any editor.

Built by Sen Gideons

Sen Notes is built to stay simple on purpose. If a feature fights “open and write,” it probably won’t ship. Feedback that makes the pad faster, clearer, or more honest about local storage is always welcome.
